Barrios as Living Bodies

All maps but map 4.5 are based on a Mexico City map drawn by Lt. Alfonso García Conde in 1783—the numbers indicate the parishes. The first one is a colored copy hosted by the Centro de Estudios de Historia de México Condumex, in Mexico City. The copy from which I took the rest is at the Mapoteca Manuel Orozco y Berra in Mexico City. The diagram of the sixteenth-century barrios was prepared by José Luis de Rojas and was published in his México-Tenochtitlan (Mexico: Fondo de Cultura Económica, 1983)
